Default JBA Heders and steeringproblem

Hello,

I have a problem on my GT 05.
There is long heders mounted(JBA Cat4ward Long Headers - Summit Partnr: JBA-6675SJT) by previous owner.
I have now seen that when turn specialy to right and accelerate the steeringbar will touch the heders, and a strang feeling in the steeringwheel occurs.
Is this a known problem? Or is something done wrong?

Thanks
Daniel

Aftermarket motor mounts to drop the engine lower? Not sure if it will help but most people recomend them for misc clearance issues.

Can´t understand why to build a headerthat is not fitting correctly.
I guess I need to check this up some more then.

A $90 set of Prothane motor mounts off ebay will fix your problems. It's very tight under our hoods, some of the JBA people have problems, some don't. I just bought the motor mounts anyway, as you have to loosen them to put the headers in, so I figured why not just slap them on when installing the headers.

Interesting stuff.... If im correct, doesnt the steering rod never actually move, but rather rotates in place? Hmmmm.....

It'snot the steering rod that moves, it's the entire motor. The stock mounts are very soft and let the motor move back and forth approximately 1/4 in each direction under load, usually corninering. Mine did it under extreme left hand corners. The stiffer mounts prevent the motor from moving. It vibrates noticably more when you start and stop the motor and just slightly more at idle. Other than that, you can't tell. Just get the mounts and do it. It's quite easy to do. The vibration I had was the passenger side header hitting the frame.

If that doesn't work they can notch the steering rod.
