Default Correct Size for Plastic/Nylon Rivets ?

I've noticed thatan awful lot of thingsunder and around thehood of the Mustangare held together bythose nylon rivets. Do most of you get those out without tearing them up, or do you just keep a bunch ofnew ones on hand for replacement?

What's the correct size? I went to the parts store to buy some recently when I had taken a plastic shield cover off the Mustang, but despite buying three different sizes, none wasthe correct size and proper fit.

Thanks in advance for the info.

all you need is a flat head screwdriver to pop up the middle portion of the rivet, and then the sleeve comes out separately... i dunno what size they are
