RE: 4.10's Who has them on their car
you guys are lucky because I have been quoted a price from 1100 to 800 dollars. I'm having a shop that are mustang specialist do mine for 800. I'm going with 4:10s'. Hope everything goes well with the drive-ability. I had an entire thread about this earlier and I went with the popular vote. As far as top end if I go faster than 125 I would no doubt lost my license and that isn't my reality at the moment.

Just had 410s installed 2 days ago. There awesome. I think I'll save gas with regular driving cause it shifts to overdrive so much quicker. I have a automatic. No need to fear.

[blockquote]CLICK THE LINK ON MY SIG CALLED MUSTANG CALCULATOR
this will calculate the gear ratio for the S197 RPM / MPH ect.. Great Toolthis should help you decide what gear to get by seeing the shift points on a graph [/blockquote]

I have 4:10s and I have gotten the car up over 150 mph and it has plenty more to give. At 150 mph I was only at 4500 rpm, and the car was still pushing to go faster even though the speedometer waspinged. I was a bit concerned about the high end as well when I was thinking about changing to4:10 gears, and the only downside is that I end upswitching gears A LOT quicker than with the lower gear ratios. The car definitely has a lot more burst off the line, whichconstantly chirps the tires if you have a heavy foot.

If I increased my hp, would that decrease the RPMs necessary to achieve a given speed? For example, if I do 100 mph @ 3000rpm now, and then I add an intake and tune, will I do 100 mph at, say 2700 rpm? And therefore, if I get 4.10 gears with an intake and tune will I still run 100 mph at 3000 rpm like I currently do with 3.55 gears w/o intake and tune?
