RE: Shocking
Static electricity...like someone mentioned. The best advice is what was given above, before you touch the nozzle at the gas station., ensure you touch a metal anything to discharge first. Many fires are caused by the static electricity and the fumes generated around the nozzle when you gas up.

I've had staticon several of my cars with cloth seats. Try this.
1 - Get some liquid fabric softener.
2 - Puta small amount, maybe a capful, into a spray bottle.
3 - Fill the spray bottle with water to dilute and shake well.
4 - Spraya small area of your seat that isn't very visibleand let dry overnight tomake sure it doesn't stain. It shouldn't.
5 - Spray the entire cloth seat and let dry overnight.
This solution seems to last about 6 months before the static comes back, then I just apply again. I've never had a problem with this staining my seats.
Good luck.

Remember the strap that used to hang under the rear of the old cars in the 50's & 60's, it was there to disipate the static charge to ground as you drove around, you can still get them & it will look pretty vintage on your stang.

I have the cloth seats in my 05 and when I get out of my car and touch the door to close it, I get a shock. Yeah it is cold and dry, but even on the warmer wet days it would still happen. I sprayed my seat with some static X stuff which helps for a couple of days, but then it comes back.
Anybody else have this problem?

I am still on stock tires and wheels, but will be changing before to long, maybe that will help me a little more.
With all the BS you hear about filling your tank and talking on your cell phone you would think this would be of a concern to manufacturers, oh well
