No. If so, cars like the T-Bird and 60's Shelbys would be illegal to drive as equipped from the factory.

Check your local laws to insure they don't have something stupid like "illegal to modify running or signal lights" if you want to be extra safe.

I was pulled over last night, the officer saw my sequentials - didn't say a thing about them. So I would assume not, at least in Ohio.

There are illegalin some states, they are illegal in Virginia, becasue the law states that you can not alter the factory lights. most cops will not bother you with it. Just check your State laws by going to your stats web site or court web site.

I got pulled over in jersey with my sequential lights... The cop was a fellow mustanger and wanted a better look at them, and asked about the ease of installation... He felt bad that he pulled me over for that, but gave me a few compliments - said nothing about them violating any laws.

Don't worry about it, I was pulled over in Fairfax last year and the cop wanted to know where I got the cool tail lights, Just get them, Most cops only know about the laws on covering the lenses with smoked covers and tape, I look at the sequentials as a safty thing, they grab the attention of the bozo behind you. just like the flashing third eye brake light.

I have a question posed to a sequential taillight company to see if there product is DOT approved...

As far as I know, they are legal in all states. The laws mostly concern shading or replacing the lenses with non-oem or non-approved (DOT) lenses and/or getting rid of the reflectors. In Mass, the sequentials are legal, but you can't change the lense to a non-DOT lens nor can you delete the reflectors. Hope this helps.
