Default Brenspeed Steeda CAI installed

I just installed my Steeda intake and tune from Brenspeed. I am using the 87 octane right now. It really does make a difference!! Does anyone know how reliable the tunes are for the car. This is my daily driver and I hope the tune does not increase wear and tear on the car.

I just installed my CAI and tune last Friday. I also hope they are reliable because this is my daily driver also. As for mileage I was getting about 24.5 mpg on highway before CAI and tune and I am now getting about 28 MPG on highway.

my concern would be... are they running lean an that's why you're getting better mpg?

I am not sure why people ask this question so much. You are modifying the stock setup to make more HP. By doing this you are changing parameters that were set at stock values for a reason. Ford engineers did not decide on these values over night! They are set to prolong the life of the engine as long as possible using the best testing they can perform.

But the real thing that will matter is how you drive the car. You are adding HP for a reason and you are not going to drive the care as before probably. The modifications that the tunes make are not going to shorten the life of the engine by any major amount. Hell it might shave a couple hrs or days off the life but the real thing that is going to ompact the engine is the way you maintain and drive it.

I just changed from the 93 tune to an 87 tune... and I can really feel the difference. The 93 tune is definately better than the 87. I just wish gas wasn't so expensive. Regular is 3.00 dollars here now so 93 is anywhere from 3.20-3.30.
