went to AutoZone to get the antenna but they didn't have one on stock, so I had the guy look it up for me and the only one that came up withwas part# 44UA200. looks the same and has the same L.E.D but I'm just not sure if it the same. I added a link that sells the same one I can get through AutoZone for 20.00, but I was wondering what you think.

Ryan, looks the same to me. But, that site says that they're out of stock.

I'd imagine Autozone can order you one and be there in a day or two.

That's one awesome write up; thanks, I'm likely going to try that setup as the TuneTrapper is not that effective. If anyone knows of the keyed 12v wire to the radio please let us know.

I'm also wondering if there is a "radio on" 12v output from the std radio (no shaker), could use that and also ifI'm still notsatisfied I may have togo to a power exterior antenna and would need this. If you do know about this would you please clue me in, thanks.

TacoBill,

Thanks for that great write up. Did you ever get a chance to try it out with AM? I listen to a lot of sports radio..

Thanks,

Rusty

TacoBill, another great write up.......question...I noticed in this write up you have the stock shifter in your stang, didn't you install the MGW shifter?
Unless of course this install was actually done before the shifter.......[sm=hiya.gif]

Sorry Rusty, haven't had the chance to drive my car since Wed night, I'll check tomorrow for sure.

The ad on the website does say that it's a FM/AM amplified antenna, so I'm hoping for the best.

Bingo!

I did this mod several months ago. I'm in the process of duplicating most of my write-up here in MF.

great writeup, doesn't seem worth all of that trouble to me though[:-]

i have a shorty antenna and it's about the same reception as before, if i grow uphappy with it, i'll just throw the stocker back on though.

good info though.

I did mine too. I used the pin 2 of the J1 connector works fine. on with radio on and off with radio off. . Here is a file of the radio connectors.. nice post. the hard part is getting the external antenna mount off and out.
