RE: Advice
how hard is it to find... I do dealer trades almost every day where I work. It should be very easy for the sales office to locate something and trade for it instead of ordering one from factory.
I wouldnt want a car that was all messed up.. If something happened to the paint in the future it might end up being blamed on your friend.

RE: Advice
Get the DP back and go to a dealer that has one in stock. If that is not the case than order a new one as the car is already tainted from the factory. If it was elective repaint for some stripes or something else but it is not and as far as I am concerned the car is not new anymore and I would want a new one even if it took a while to get in!

RE: Advice
yea what dealer and color of car so we can watch out that no one else buys it because they will jsut fix the roof and sell it that way without warning the new buyer. i def. say go to another dealer and either have a new dealer locate the car or order a new one.

RE: Advice
If you play your cards right, with patience, you could come out ahead with this. You have a trucking company who screwed up the roof. So between them and the dealer you could go far. You also have the issue of the wing being put on the car when you specifically stated was ordered without. Hopefully it was Ford, not the dealer who screwed that up, because you could possibly take it farther with Ford. Don't demand anything until you see what the parties who F'd up are willing to offer. Good luck.
P.S. Dont't settle short because 30K is alot to you and me but it does't even scratch the surface of the deep pockets of the parties involved!

RE: Advice
Refuse the car. Shouldn't be too hard to locate another one close by unless the said customer has ordered something extra special. My car was delivered from a dealer in Kentucky to my dealership in Ohio. Had to wait an extra day to take delivery but it was worth every minute.
