Default Chrome Grille Accent ALA PJ

When I saw the grille on the Parnelli Jones Mustang, it reminded me of the grilles on the Mustangs from the 60's. I decided to do something similar. I used chrome door trim from AutoZone. It came in a 10' roll. I installed the trim along the grille. The install was fairly easy, it just pushes in place. It's easier if you start in the middle of the grille just under the Pony and then work your way towards each edge. You can trim the excess with a pair of scissors.

When you close the trunk, it looked like the hood was the blocking the top, so I place another piece on the hood. However, when the hood was open, the top of the grill looked incomplete. I went back to autozone and bought a strip of wheel well molding and glued it onto the top of the grill. I had some left over, so I used it as trim on the fog lights. I like the thin chrome strip better then the larger ones available from various vendors that cover the entire foglight trim.

What do you guys think?

Looks pretty good, a nice little touch thats not over the top. Unfortunately on my car it would be pointless lol, it would just blend in.

yes, I had the lower grille, the CDC spoilr, the mirrors and the antenna hole all painted at the same time. I took everything off the car and prepped it myself to save some money. The body shop did a great job on the antenna hole, you can't tell there was ever an antenna on the car and the color match was perfect.

No, the antenna hole was welded by the body shop.

I'll take some better pictures of the fog lights tomorrow. in the mean time, this is the closest picture I have. As you can see, the seam on the fog lights is visible .

the seam is pretty much hidden by the hood though unless you are looking up from the ground hehe. i was wondering more how the chrome strip fit on the black fog bezel. looks good in the closer pic. thanks!
