What the hell is a "bad idle"?

sorry, i mean it has a rough idle when sitting at a light or something. flucuates like 200rpm. i can feel the car shake/stutter a little. began happening right after install. any hope or is my car destined to be stock?

Im not sure about the rpm change, but as far as vibrating/noise, it is most likely the hanger vibrating against a piece of metal underneath the car. Try trimming the hanger or retracting the tips a little and see if that solves the shaking problem.

There is no physical way an exhaust could effect the rpm...

atleast there's no way that I could think of.

The two problems sound unrelated.

COINSIDENCE!! for sure, but Why do the instructions always tell you to unhook the battery because the computer has to learn the new mufflers??

Any other mods? I recently installed my CAI and tune and the car does hunt +/- 200 rpm at lights. You can hear the engine rpm change. Fred from Evo said it was normal?

Funny, I didn't disconnect my battery when I installed my exhaust (stingers) and they turned out ok. I know when my mazda had RPM problems it was the EGRvalve, but I would think it unlikely to happen already. Did you accidently move any of the pipes when you were doing the install?
