Default over-rev(rpm) the engine?

is it possible to rev the engine too fast/i.e. is there an rpm limiter in 05+ mustangs?

over revving is bad period. I don't think there's a rpm limiter/

yeah there is a limiter stock. ive heard it bein hit before.

yep theres a rev limiter. i hit it today. shifted to slow, wasn't paying attention.

There is a limiter, but I suppose you can still do damage if you hit the limit to fast too often.

rev limiter @ stock is 6250 I think. Bounced mine off the limiter the other day since I had taken the tune out to check something and accidently hit it.

The RPM limiter is just over 6K. When you hit this believe me you will know. It feels like you let off the throttle. The '05 Stangs have this rev limiter.

I bypassed the rev-limiter once by downshifting to a gear that I was going to fast for and it was in the neighborhood of 7000 RPM's somewhere!! Scared the daylights out of me!! Anyway the car still runs fine, gotta love that manufactures warranty! What a false sense of security

Be careful on that one Bro. First thing they would dois interrogate the ECU which logs, amongst others,max RPM reached - ever. 7000 will stand out like a sore thumb and your warranty won't be worth the paper it's scrawled on
