Ok we have 2 S-197convertibleMustangs. They both have this error code. What happens when the code comes on is the fuel gauge instantly reads empty and low fuel chime anunciates and the gauge on the dash trurns red and show no fuel. Last fall when I asked this question on a few forums there was no answer. Last Fall I put away oursupercharged car for the winter, but about a month ago the V6 came up with the same code. GRRRR!
So first thing this week I get the blown car out and take it to the dealer I give him the code DTE FLI DATA ERR. He said that wasn't an error code as ALL error codes have a P and a 4 digit number, blah blah blah and he said hehad never heard of that as an error code! I said well tomorrow when I bring myother convertilble Mustang that has the same porblem you will not be able to say that again! ANYWAY... I helped the service guy out a little and told him I had been sitting on this for about 5 months....This is what I had come up withTE FLI = Distance to empty, fuel level indicator. He has some starryeyed look and the it was like a small light went on.(a very dim one by the way) About an hour later I get a call that my fuel level sending unit os bad... GO FIGURE!

Am I the only one with this problem and I have it twice!!!
