Whats your opinion on the factory side scoops ford puts on the California Special? I personally think before Ford phases this bodystyle out you will see the addition of sometype of side scoop similar to the ones on the C/S special. Im thinking of adding them and just wanted a little feedback first. I've heard these things have a tendancy to come off the car leaving a gap because of the low quality 3M tape ford uses on some of their cosmetics. Also if anyone knows where I can get them besides ford direct or how much they should run that would help too! Thanks

If I get side-scoops again this time around, it'll be these. However, I'll be installing them myself. I'll make sure I get some good 3M.

Ford uses 2 fastners in addition to the tape.

 

I like the ones Cervini sells. Just painted and put on last weekend and they look great. 3M Tape. And stuck on good. The car looks ok without, but formyself, my car looks much better with them. Of course I don't want a Mustang that looks like everyone elses. Pics being developed and in in a couple days.

I bought the Eleanor style from Mr. Body kit. Look great in picture, but for $200.00 the quality sucks. I'm going to have to glue a thin piece of metal to the inside to get them to fit right. They tend to cave in (if you will) in the middle. They didnt trim them at all from the mold and didn't supply any 3M tape. Amazedat the price different places charge for pieces. $200.00 for the scoops but $225 for the CDC agressive chin and it's 15 times more material. Also look at the louvers out there. I payed $149.00 for the Silver Horse raceing ones that you can see through, but you can pay $50-$100 more for ones you can't. Sorry I started ranting. But I do love the look of the side scoops

 

Love the side scoop, really adds to the "muscle look" of the car....try to match up with your hood scoop if you have want.....

 

Are there any out there that actually rivet into body panel?

I am just very leary of driving around with $300 worth of paint/plastic "taped" to my car..

Might as well tape my ipod to the hood of the car.. and hope it stays..

 

I'm not big on anything that looks tacked on. that goes for hood scoops, spoilers, side scoops, etc.
