Default 429 swap

hi,
Im planning on replacing my 5.0 with a 427, 428, or a 429 now what i need to know is what is involved and what parts are needed.

You posting in the right place? I haven't seen a 5.0 in these cars YET.....but I'm looking forward to it. also like to see a 429 shoe-horned into one!

Galpin auto sports put a 429 in there S197. Looked so right. Should have left the factory like that.

I saw a pic awhile back that had a S197 with a 60's 427 SOHC motor in it. It looked like it belonged in it...................

Shoehorned in looks like the correct word. If your really thinking of this and have the money, I'd look into racing front coil-over clip. Likea Chris Alston Chassic. Get rid of the strut towers and K-member. Now you'd open up the whole area for headers and tuning plus any size or year motor. Good luck.

Big difference between a Boss 429 and you're average 429. But either swap is a waste of time and money. Just strap a blower or turbo to your 4.6 and you'll have more power then a nicely built 429 and quite a bit lighter too.
