1 dark what do u mean the way it sounds when u shift? does the shifter make some noise?[&:]
Not sure I like the "sound" of this. I think I prefer my shifter to be quiet.

ORIGINAL: Bluestar

BTW did you get those Stainless Steel Bezels???
Yep, I ordered them but they didn't fit right for some reason and I had to send them back.

emperorofchicken ,what I mean by sound is when you shift from one gear to the other. It's just when you shift but is not constant.

With any mod to gain something, you're going to lose something...The hurst is "louder"and transmits more vibration. This is mainly due difference between the poly urethan vs rubber bushings.

Having the Hurst makes driving the car more enjoyable. If I wanted a refined car that doesnot transmit vibrationandis quiet I would not have bought a mustang.

IMO the stock shifter was just OK. I was getting tired of missing 3rd gear under hard acceleration. I put in an MGW and the difference is night and day. If your OK with the stock shifter then spend your money elsewhere. I know that missing 3rd gear 25% of the time under hard accel. was not cutting it for me. Most people will tell you that they would never go back to the stock shifter after the installation of an aftermarket one.

Stock shifter sucks compared to my short throw by By Hurst. Never miss 3rd again!

See all of these mods sound freaking cool. But I'm such a wimp when it comes to voiding my valuable warranty. Anyway you can get a dealer to install the shifter (even though I hear that it's really easy). Would this mean anything if there comes a time (knock on wood) to replace the transmission?

Mine only has 8xx miles on it, so I'm still kinda on the edge.

this is the ford racing one...it is a hurst (as is the exhaust is a borla)....all frpp's are warranted if installed by the dealer.

About 30 minutes, a friend to help from in the car while you're underneath, and a moderate degree of mechanical ability. It really is a breeze of a mod, and the instructions provided by hurst are pretty good. I found it a lot easier to drop the front of the driveshaft for the install, but you don't have to.

Go with Hurst and never look back.
Using two fingers to shift through all 5 gears + reverse while never having to move your hand > *.
