Default Chrome Help

I want something chromed... And I doubt chrome spray paint if that even exists will look good...I think its just a metallic silver...
But anyways where can I go to get something chromed or is there something I can buy to do it myself?

See if you can find a chromer in your area. You can check the yellow pages, internetor talk to a local body shop to see if they know of a local chromer. I have found that some chromers seem to specialize in smaller items and won't do large things like bumpers while other chromers do bumpers and grilles only (for old car resto). If you find a good chromer on the net not in your local area, they will usually have you ship the part to them, chrome it, and ship it back to you. Chroming is not something you can do yourself.

I bought a shifter bezel... its a polished one but its not a nice polish... it looks like it was buffed to hard with a grain of sand stuck in the cloth... i cant complain you get what you pay for... the shifter bezels are between like $80-$110 on the internet and i got it for $40 shipped... but if i could get it chromed it would be worth it...

I would think it's not really worth it. From what I hear, chroming something can be pretty pricey.

Actually you can buy a chromming kit, it requires chemicals, dipping tanks and a small DC voltage electrode process. Look up chromming in the internet. These run around $600.00 ++, if your not planning on doing a lot of chrome that it would not be worth the investment, not to say anything about the mess and room it would take to set it up.

If your talking just some scratches on aluminum you can buff it out. Scratches on chrome plated forget it. Ya the chrome paint sucks. If your yellow pages doesn't show chroming co, pick up a Hemmings or auto flyers and they might show or stop buy a Harley shop and they would know one for sure. But it's not cheap, maybe buy another one but from a Mustang catalog, not Ebay. I've gotten crap from there too.

Look under "plating" in the Yellow Pages.
