Default UDP install help

I am installing the Steeda UDP's and I am having a heck of a time getting the crank bolt off. I have taken the fan out and used an impact and I have also used a breaker bar but it won't come loose! Do any of you have any tips that might help? Did Ford weld these things in?

Mine came right off with a quality air impact. The craftsman impact didn't stand a chance on taking it off. I have a Husky Composite 1/2 inch impact that made quick work of it. Also your supply hose diameter will play some roll in the amount of torque your impact puts out. Hope that helps.

That might be the problem. My impact is the one that came with the CH compressor. Looks like I will have to pay a shop to install them. Thanks for the help.

I would buy a new impact gun. You'll get the job done and have a new tool too!

I useda stuby 4" craftsman impact wrench to avoid having to remove the fan assembly, PS reservoir and overflow tank. I wrote up a set of instructions that include tips on pitfalls to avoid. Hope it helps and saves you some time.

I needed to buy a 375 ftlb impact for it to work. 70.00 at auto zone.

I ended up using the big breaker bar, and after a set of bloody knuckles, I finally got it. Then came the pulley... The puller that I used ended up ruining some threads in the crank so that was a good time. The original bolt ended up stripping out when I put the Steeda UDP on, so I ended up using the longer one that came with the kit and some extra washers. I got it to catch and finally got it on tight. The belt went back on and everything sounds good. Moral of the story... Unless you really know what you are doing, dont be an idiot like me, and pay a professional to do it.
