Default Ford Racing 4.10 gears are in!

Install was done at Swanson Performance in Torrance, CA. Danny Swanson is no stranger to Mustangs. In fact, that's their speciality!

He was nice enough to let me hang around in the shop to watch the whole install. I stayed back around 10' so not to get in their way. I managed to get some decent pics and vids of the install.

Total time for the install was just under 4 hours. Backlash measured 0.007". Was told that the gear mesh pattern for accel/coast is perfect.

No whine, no groan, no leaks.

So the big question... how do they feel, right? Well, I was specifically told to take it easy for a 'little while'. Not sure how many miles 'a little while' is, but I'm going to try and force myself to keep from bouncing off the rev-limiter for a 100 miles.
Just from cruising in town, I can tell the rpm's are coming up a tad quicker through 1st gear and also higher when just driving in 3rd and 4th.

Here's some pics of today's event. Highlights below, but full album can be viewed here.

Yup, a Dynojet. Setup to monitor A/F readings too. Before you ask, no, haven't dyno'd mine... yet.

My 'out the door' price was $953.

Now, before y'all have a cow, my FRPP alum. axle girdle was $230 plus tax.
Labor charge was an acceptable $400.
And, I supplied my own Mobil 1 75W-140 gear oil.
Rest of the cost was gears, install stuff, friction modifier.

True, I could have went with cheaper shop, and I know'cheaper' doesn't neccesarily mean inferior work, but Imust say that the guys at Swanson took their time, handled my car with big time TLC,and above all, performed a first rate install.
