Difference in Insurance Cost

Difference in Insurance Cost
I currently have a 2006 v6, I'm 18 and I have Erie car insurance. Since I'm of age now I decided to trade up to a GT, since I can comfortibly make payments now. However insurance is the only thing standing in my way. I have an extensive insurance policy, it covers everything to the maximum possible.
Long story short, how much more is a GT going to run me? Has anyone done this or have an educated guess as to the difference between the two? I may just call in the morning, but it'd be nice to know ahead of time what other prices people are getting near my age, and if I should even try.
I read the thread of everyone's car insurance rates and all, I'm just interested to see if anyone has done something similar to this with their car/insurance.

Yeah most insurance companies have a quote thing online. Or you could just call them and give them a VIN # from a v8 off autotrader, similiar to what your looking for to get an idea of how much its gonna cost you. I'm 21 and pay $990 every 6 months for my GT AND a 80 malibu. If I took the malibu off they ditch the multi car discount and it jumps to about $1200 every 6 months. Good luck man. Mine is for sale

Only way to know is to call and ask your insurance company. Each insurance company is different and so are the relative rates.

You can afford a GT/insurance and rent at 18?

I had a V6 Stang first and then I traded it in for a GT and my insurance only went up $50 every 6 months. Now I am 40 years old with multi-car discounts, but I was suprised that it was not more. Good luck with your serch.
