Anyone read the new Hotrod magazine?
I haven't seen it yet but on one of the Chevy's sites I frequent they were quoting from the magazine:
"In the latest hotrod there's an article on the '05 Mustang and how they got it into the 12's and it tells of nasty wheel hop and a body mounted shifter that (quote their test driver) "was so floppy I couldn't power shift"."
"In a side bar article they talk about the cars electronics. The torque mgnt system makes it impossible to do a burnout or if you can get past the floppy shifter, power shift the thing. When it detects engine rpm doesn't match vehicle speed it shuts down everything. With drive by wire you can mash the gas all you want and it won't do anything. The hotrod folks were able to tune around the torque mgnt system though... They didn't say anything about a button on the dash, They did say they didn't expect the avg tuner to get past it very easily..."
Anyone have any real world insight on this? I don't really believe anything in magazines anymore. Can someone explain the torque management system who actually owns a 05?

RE: Anyone read the new Hotrod magazine?
If you've noticed over the years, Hotrod seems to favor Chevy's so it is not crazy to hear this quote. I think that there is a conspiracy against Ford since they have come out with two hot cars in one year, the new 05 Mustangs and the Supercar GT.
Take it with a grain of salt. The new Mustang is a great new beginning for Mustangs. I just can't wait to see the '07 Cobra and what they do in the engine bay! I've heard rumors of a blown 5.4, but who knows.
