Oops. Not warrantied... Clutch burnt and gone.
Argh. Took car to dealer at 9K miles because clutch is not working properly... Bought it at 6.5K miles.
Turns out the clutch is barely existant anymore... The guy before me mustve hot rodded like hell. Darn.
Service advisor is a nice guy, very knowledgable and sympathetic... Basically said they tried their best to find something to warranty it based on, but can't. Its a wear and tear completely gone clutch.
The tech they let me talk to in the shop was very very knowledgable... Taught me a lot about clutches. Glad I met him.
Many $$$ later I realize why its NEVER completely safe to buy a used car - not even at low miles!
On the flip side, they both noted how perfect condition the rest of the car was... No oil seepage or anything at all. Everything is like new. That felt good.
He also noted to keep my extended warranty because if I never use it I can get a refund before it ends..
Anyways, thats my day.

Well, if the clutch was broke it can be replaced under warranty... but completely worn away is apparently wear and tear to them. Ugh, i hope im right and not getting ripped off!

My 89' Mazda b2000 pickup had the original clutch when I bought it at 73,000 miles.. I drove it to 189,000 miles.. and learned to drive a stick with it.. Then again it was only 80 HP, LOL.
Not on topic... but I've had a few beers... [sm=alcoholic.gif]
