I dont know why you wouldn't want to go with flowmasters, but if you get the right combo it sounds really good. I have FRPP shorty headers to a custom xpipe to super 44s and it sound way louder and meaner then the car in the clip two above.

I've practically given up on axlebacks. My Hookers lasted 4 months before blowing out, and I've decided to wait until somebody comes out with a decent MID-MUFFLER design. PYPES is said to be working on such a design, and I hope others are too. Axlebacks don't take into account the enormous resonance potentialthat exists in the trunk area of an S197. The practical affect is either too much drone, or mufflers that blow out pre-maturely because their chambers burn out.

Video does not do it justice....But you have an Xpipe, if you hear SLP's with it its ridiculously loud

MACs with resonators. If you can handle the drone.. Just the MACs.

i was origionally set on motoblue RS and Pypes offroad H... but change of plans.. and now want your opinion on what the DEEPEST, MEANEST, MOST MUSCLE CAR SOUNDING axle back exhaust is..
i AM NOT doing flowmasters..
was thinking along the lines of magnapacks.. and the offroad h pipe.. heard a clip of those and they sound perfect..
any comments, help.. anythnig..

I have the Magnaflow Axlebacks (15882) they have very good tone, not too loud at idle, no drone at cruise but opens up when you get into it.

I think he said deep though.. aren't those a little raspy?
That gives me an idea though.. what would is sound like of you just put two good resonators right before the axle (the only place they fit) and just had pipes with chrome tips coming out the back.. would it sound more like the older Mustangs?

I get a lot of complements on mine. In fact a couple of days ago a guy drove up next to me on my way home from work and said it was a lot of fun just to listen to it. Not too loud, like the Loudmouths, but real nasty when you get on it.
