Default re-badging a shellby

I know there has been a million thread on re-badging mustangs. But, here is a new angle.

If one buys a Shelby GT (not the 500) and removes the square badge and installs the cobra usually associated with Shelbys, is that rice or otherwise deplorable?

I dont have a shelby, I was just thing that if I did, I would definately put the cobra on. BTW, I know the "its your car, do as you want" opinion is usually correct, im just wondering what is the consenus of the mustang faithful.

I see no problem at all with that.

I wouldn't care if someone did that to their car, but IMHO if I were to pay all that premium to get the "special edition" Shelby, I would keep it original and not mod it, performance- or appearance-wise, unless it's for a blower installed by Shelby themselves

I wouldn't do it because my car is not a cobra.

Wow, I don't know why you would ask that question here, nothing but trouble is coming.....
Its a shelby but not a cobra.....I really don't know if its acceptable but its the closest thing to it IMO.
I really don't know or understand how rebadging down is ok, because the big arguement I hear is you are misrepersenting and some might think that they beat the wrong car or be mislead, Isn't this the same thing? If you beat a car with PONY emblems on your GT isn't that the same? So if a dealer builds a car and misbadges is that ok?
A car that SHELBY put for ford has generally been accepted as a cobra so I don't see why they would in this case unless next year he brings out the GT350 and its practally the same as the ShelbyGT.

It's a shelby model but not a Cobra!
