Default Ethanol?

Has anyone installed a conversion kit? What Octane does this stuff run at? I guess I'd have to scrap my tune too huh?

You'll have to do more than just scrap your tune. You'll be replacing fuel lines, fuel pump, o-rings, plus several other parts.

I agree. Gasahol (up to 10-15% ethanol) is ok, but anything more than that will eat butyl-based rubber parts in the fuel system. There are also issues with moisture (hygroscopic) as well as cylinder wall wear.
Your A/F ratio needs to be richened way up to run alcohol. That magic 14.7 comes down to about 10:1 for a stochiometric mixture...more rich for racing.

ethanolis [sm=smiley20.gif]anyways,couple shops here in florida quoted some people i know anywhere from $500 - $1000 to do the conversion. the downside is that there aren't that many pumps yet here.

I would love to see the tunes they could make for 117 octane gas. Wish thier were more kits out thier for e85. The problem is e85 isn't really cheap enough to make it worth while. Most cars cost more to operate on e85 because of the decreased gas mileage.
