Video from TOP Gear about the GT500
It's funny really, take a few supposed car guys, give them an American muscle car and they'll expect a sports car every time. They simply don't get it (The regular Mustang GT was coined as lame by the British TV show. Not only that but they take the 500 horsepower that Ford says the GT500 makes, strap it to a portable dyno and say "almost" because it made 447 to the wheels, now I ask you, when did Ford ever say the GT500 ever made 500 to the wheels? Sheeeesh.
The Brits and Europe in general have this complex...

Hmmmmmm, I realize they do drive on the WRONG side of the road in Britain and they're still jealous becausethey have to drive crappy econo-boxes and we have large road, big vehicles and access to drive a V-8 powered car everyday should we choose. He prefers a front drum braked, wheezing 390 truck engined '67 over a GT500? Not knocking the '67, it is what it is and I'm grateful for that. 447 rwhp? That's about 500-515 crank hp, but you must realize the average viewer doesn't know rwhp to crank hp anyway[&o]. But like his partner in crime(Jeremy Clarkson I believe) who despises Yank iron, owns a Mustang to Clarkson's Ford GT supercar........
Typical whiny metro-sexual English lame-***** who crap in one hand and complains it smell likesh!t nearby...........

Well, they don't know the difference between an engine dyno and a rolling dyno. That pretty much sums up the extent of their car expertise.
Honestly, I wouldn't worry about what they say on that show. It's just a case of a bunch of stuck up Brits trying to make themselves feel better about themselves by sh**ting on anything American made.

Yeah both those knuckleheads are biased against American cars. They blasted the Dodge Viper calling it garbage because is was not comfortable or well refined. I guess unless your car has a Crumpet dispenser it won't cut it for those Brits.
However, when they review a BMW it is a devine car without comparison.
I think they reviewed the Mustang against a Z06 and a Viper. Different class of cars, and I wouldnt expect the Stang to hang with 2 seater race cars that are poorly disguised to be "sport cars".
