I have also noticed a purple tint depending where I am and what time of day/night it is, although I haven't had people comment to me about it. I have had several people that have come up to me and asked if it was Tungsten? haha

When I was on the hunt for a Mustang one time on a cloudy day, I saw a Tungsten on the lot. The dealer knew I was looking for a gray/silver/dark colored Mustang. I asked what the specs were on that car. He said "Oh, you're interested?" I told him sure, and he said "But it's not really a metallic gray. It's more of a purple." I said it didn't look purple, I thought it looked a bit flatter than the silver but with a more gray tone to it. He said on a sunny day you can tell it's purple. He said the color mixtureactually has purple in it which explains the different color looks in different light. I took his word for it and when I saw one again during the summer, it was true, it looked lavender. It looks just like my mom's BMW color which is called Aspen Silver. Aspen is known for the light gray purplish colored mountains. Personally, I like it! Just like my color Mineral Gray, sometimes looks gray, sometimes looks gold, brown, etc.

The actuall color isnt Tungstun at all its Iris! Ford calls it tungstun but if you go to any paint shop and have them look up the paint itself like i did when i was inquiring about paint for my new hood they brought out a camera thing to get an actuall digitized color match and it comes up as Iris and yes it has a mix of silver/grey/iris and white in the mix.
