I would have said powder coating until I found out how much they want in my area. Over $200 to powder coat. I wound up painting mine for less then $20 and If it chips or I want to cahnge the color, it will only cost me another $20 to re do them + a little time.

I did a write up when I painted mine.

And here's a picture of the finished product:

I bought the decals on Ebay for $10/pair. Here's a picture of them installed:

I have some other write ups at this url:

StowesStang,

Were the blue ones painted by you? If so, is that "Fjord Blue" or whatever you call it?? Or did you buy those from FRPP already painted?

We painted those.........the color, believe it or not, is called Caliper Blue.......and it is 500 degree rated caliper paint. The Ford blue just didnt look right with the Vista Blue so that is why I went with the Caliper Blue. Picked it up at Autozone!

Shiney may not make it fast, but it sure makes it look good,
We have a saying in the Harley world - 'chrome don't make you go, but it sure looks good pushin'

I'm at work right now and don't have any pics available. Here is a link to a couple parts I am selling in the classified section and there are a couple of the plenum I did in carbon fiber as well. The covers look just like the plenum...

I have the chrome Ford Racing ones and love them! Kinda pricey 300+, but worth it!
