whining while turning
You guys don't know what he means....you keep hearing whine and thinkin tranny and diff...I have a 5-speed V6 and it does the same thing. It is deffinatly something in the steering column. Its more pronounced when its cold too. May be one day ill searchfor the cause.
Mine is making that same noise but its coming from the axle or dif...........................06 automatic w/3500 miles. and only when I turn. Noticed it coming back from FFW in Houston.
We had the whine from the power steering in the wife's Windstar, she pulls off the highway and the TORSION BAR snapped!
Guess it was stressing the PS pump.
SOHC
PS: It was 6 miles from the dealer on the way home! They fixed it for free.

Mine does the same thing. It is the power steering pump making the noise. Seems to be worse when the engine is cold and slightly decreases as the engine warms up. Not too much of an annoyance. It may be just be the nature of the beast.
It is the power steering pump while under a pressure load. The lower the fluid level gets the louder it is. He stated that it was while turning. A gear whine would happen all the time, not just when turning

Not with the limited slip rearend. Notorious for whining only when turning. Especially after a long straight run on the interstate. Take the off ramp and turn one way or the other. They tend to scream like a raped ape.
