Retractable License Plates

Retractable License Plates
I am about to do the GT500 bumper swap and I refuse to put a license plate on it (here in MD it's illegal to have no front plate)
I am looking into a way to have a plate swing up from under the car at the push of a button if possible. I have seen one for a Corvette but it was specifically for that car and you couldn't swing it up or down from inside the car. Here is a video of one someone made for a Camaro

Does anyone have any info on a kit or something that can be modified or something? I really don't want to have to create this whole thing in my garage.

RE: Retractable License Plates
I had friend that bought an old headlight cover assembly from an old T-Bird to mount driving lights under the front bumper of his show car. It was very slick. He bought the hide-away headlight cover assembly and did some modifications and it worked perfectly. just a thought. Maybe an aftermarket restoration parts company might have one you could buy and work with.

RE: Retractable License Plates
I agree...I would hate to put a plate on that beautiful front end
I have a friend with a 2003 2WD single cab silverado that did that to just the rear end plate. With a button inside, the plate would retract up and down when he pressed it. He only did this because, well, his truck is heavily modded and he's one to do naughty driving hehe. He got it done at a custom shop where I live though, so I'm not sure what they did to rig it.

Thanks for the links BeeStang but I am pretty sure the Autoloc ones just flip up and down. I need it to come out from under the car and flip up I think. Do you know what I mean?
I guess I'll have a better idea of my options once I tear my front end apart and see what kind of space is in there.

I think how much they enforce that law varies by state. In California, I've never been pulled over for not having a front plate, and I've been driving without it since I got my car.
