Whipple Supercharger on 07 GT - 3.31 or 3.55 gears?
I will be having a whipple supercharger put on my new mustang, but not sure which gears would be better, the 3.31 or the 3.55? I heard you don't want to go too high, because you want to make use of the boost from the supercharger.

i have the stock (06 GT) 3.55 ratio and personally, i wouldn't
want the 3.31's....in fact 3.73's might be the
perfect ratio (with a whipple) after all is said and done.
really, what it comes down to is how you want 3rd
gear to feel, since 1st and 2nd are pretty much a
flash in the pan

Well i'm curious because most of what I have to pick one from the lots come with the 3.31s for some reason. I imagine the people I have installing my supercharger could just as easily upgrade the gears at the same time to the 3.55 or 3.73's?

if your not gonna be racing it and beatin on
it, then you'll probably be happy with either
gear ratio that comes on your new stang.
if you were not going with a s/c, then you
definately would want to wait for one with
the 3.55 option

You at least want the 3.55's in it. I have 3.55's and I am putting my whipple HO kit on this next weekend. I thought about 3.73's but I do alot of driving and the 3.55's will suit me just fine. If you plan on going to the strip alot and don't use it as a daily driver, then 3.73's.

3.31's are like grandma's car and 3.55's [which I have] are only marginally better.
