Default For those with CDC classic chin spoiler.

As you can see in my sig photo I have the CDC chin spoiler. It's flat black and never been painted.About a week ago I was pulling out of a steep driveway at a restaraunt and scraped the chin from undernieth. My car has never been lowered. Now the yellow plastic from spoiler is showing through. In other words the Chin comes painted in flat black the original is a yellow color. When I scraped it up the yellow is showing through the paint.Anyone else have this happen to them? What measures did you take to fix it?Thanks for your help.

I didnt get mine in flat black i got it unpainted ...... but ive had a few problems scraping my side skirts so im careful with the chin spoiler but ill be honest my chin spoiler is a rock magnet ... it loves rocks it eats em.

Do you have a pic of where it is ? if its kinda on the bottom and not too big i imagine some black touch up will blend in ok youll prob only be able to notice if your real close

Since your spolier is flat black:

Easiest way to go is to mask off the rest of the front end and buy some flat black "Rust Oleam" paint and after lightly sanding the area, repaint it yourself...

Next method would be to have it repainted by a body shop (too expensive)...

I have scraped the bottom of mine under the same situation as you and had to have my body shop repaint if ($100.00) becasue I had mine painted to match the car...

Now -- I am extra careful of the driveways and dips in the road...

Dave

I have a Fang spoiler on mine. I sanded it down and painted it with duplicolor flat black bumper paint. I put about 4 layers on. I have a v6 and it matches my side flat black rocker panels.

I'm getting my CDC chin spoiler painted black body color. The material of mine is black urathane and not yellow as you can see in the photo. I purchased mine a couple of weeks ago. Apparently they have changed the color of the material they use so when they paint the flat black it covers better and won't show scratches so readily. I only wish Ford had used a black primer instead of white on my car so the paint chips wouldn't show so much.

It happens to me all the time but the scratches is way in the bottom and is not visible. I got mine used from one of our fellow MF's and was already painted flat black. I painted it automotive trim paint in matte black.

If you click on the left hand side I have a photo gallery that shows the car from differant angles. You should get an idea of how it looks. The flat black looks good on the Black factory cars. The only exception would be if you were planning on adding stripes all the way down then I would suggest having it painted Factory Black
