Default I took out a good majority of my interior today!

I started out today by just wanting to take out my rear seats. Well one thing after the other, Most of my carpet, side panels, everything in the trunk were all taken out. I am going to take out some other stuff tomorrow. But I ended up shaving off 52lbs

Ill do pics tomorrow

By 52lbs, you are referring to what?

-rear seat (top and bottom)?
-rear seat brackets?
-carpet?
-passenger seat?
-center console?
-door panels?
-other?

I'm guessing just the first 3 things listed, as the passenger seat alone weighs more than 52lbs.

Top of the rear seat- 7 lbs each (2x)
Bottom of rear seat- 13lbs
Rear passenger side panel- 6lbs each (2x)
Rear seat brackets- 1lb each (2x)
Trunk insulation- 4lbs
rear seat insulation- 4lbs
rear seat belt adapters-2lbs

And more to come tonight. These pics are from yesterday, because Ive been working on it a little more lately.

Why are you stripping it? Are you planning on caging it? Just trying to shed the lbs? any plans for the now empty space?

Yep, Im stripping it because of those two things. I plan onputting a 10pt cage in there and shedding some weight.

Does the bottom cushion really weigh 13lbs? I ask because my strut tower brace weighs 14lbs, and feels about twice as heavy as the foam/plastic rear seat cushion. I'll go check in a few minutes I guess, considering it's out of the car.

Well, JMO, I'd rather have a factory interior, and 52 # heavier. That nice car looks like a "stripped dirt car"
To each his own,.......... Not for me, BUT.........[sm=signs003.gif][sm=signs003.gif][sm=icon_cheers.gif]
