the tuner and intake finally came.. (SCT and C&L)...

well i went to my freinds house to install.. and it was all going smooth and then i finished the intake and then started to use the tuner.. tuned it.. selected the C&L intake.. and a few othe rthings..and then i started it..

it started kina funny.. like.. too low of rpms.. then i let it run for a few mins while i cleaned up.. (thinking all was good)...

so then i go to rev it.. and you could hear the intake really suckin in air!... which is awesome.. BUT.. after about 2500 rpms.. it dies..

i tried to retune.. messed with the hose hook ups.. everything.. then tried again.. same thing...

i dunno what it was.. only got a wrench light on the last try..

WHAT HAPPENED..

so at this point im freakin out bc im 20 min drive from my house, and have work at 800 am.. so i try to install stock in take adn retuen to stock intake box..

start it..and it started alot smoother and everything when i started it rather then how it did witht he C&L..

so i let it run for a few.. then rev'd it and it was fine..

test drove it for a min.. it was fine..

so i am now home about to go to bed for work tomarrow...

PLEASE HELP..

its somethign to do with the intake..

this is my only car and would sh*t my pants and die if it broke..

im a nervous wreck right now.. ..

is it a canned tune? or from like brenspeed or b a m a or something..?

There isn't really a way you can mess up the tune.. i mean all you have to do is press like 3 buttons then it does all the work for you...

Did you mess with a bunch of stuff on the tuner or something ?

canned tune.. i selected the 87 tune.. and then asked for a bunch more stuff.. which i just ingnored..and then asked about air box.. and i selected the C&L.. and i think was pretty much it..

any ideas?..

seem like it wasnt getting enough air if you ask me...

would i have needed to change the MAF setting ? bc i thought i saw something about that.. but when i went back.. i couldnt find it..

I know it's not their fault. But nothing EVER good seems to go with RPM Outlet...

haha...You have fallen into the trap......the tuner they sell normally dont have the tune for the intakes.....MANY people have gotten the diablo and tried to load the tune only to find out that the C&L tune was not on the tuner.

Maybe you set the idle speed too low? I dont advise you to go into the tuner and change alot of stuff if you dont know what it means, or how it will affect the car, thats very dangerous (stay away from spark settings etc). Also, I dont advise you to use a canned tune either... Pay the 60 bucks and have an experienced tuner create you a personal tune file, most of them will email them to you.

If thats not possible, perhaps a fellow forum member in your area who has more experience can help you out?

The whole "get what you paid for" applies here.....I dont get why with all the threads about Brenspeed and B ama people still try to save a few $$. Its not like there are 10 threads everyday stating how good RPMoutlet is.....

To fix you problem do as stated above and get a real tune from the the tuners mentioned above or VMP.

This is why you research before purchasing mods. I don't mean to sound like a dick, but its true. When you try to save a few bucks, you usually get ****ed over later.

It's worth it to pay the extra $$$
