I'm seeing that the biggest con is the price. But I was recently at the Ferrari showroom at the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas and I could easily tell which car had the "clear bra" as there is a less than clear reflection on the front when you look at the paint.
Is there a temporary clear bra that can be thrown on and taken off easily???
I have it on mine, and no one ever notices it until I point it out. If you can tell it's there (by casually looking vs looking for it), then I'd say it wasn't done very good.

I have them on both of my "nice" cars and I love it. Quite spendy ($500-$800 here in flush Northern VA), but my cars have no rock chips. If only I could get one for the windshield.

I installed one myself on my CTSV; it took quite a while, but was successful due to my autobody experience and putting on Transam decals back in the '80's. Most that try it themselves get very frustrated.

When the car got hit in a parking lot, the insurance company paid for a pro to replace it.

My thought was when really researching was that if you want it you probably need to have someone install it that is trained to do it. The kit and installation was quoted to me locally for almost $800. I hate to say it but I can get my car re-shot from the fenders forward for about that much with a local friend so honestly for me its not worth it. I hear mixed reviews on how it looks some say you can tell others say no...some say yellow some say no.....blah blah blah.........

I say drive your car....be smart stay out of situations which will get you a chip (ie following closely, trucks and so forth) and you will have nice paint for a good amont of the time. If you get something you can live with then look into getting the hood you wanted or the bumper kit or the chin spoiler and pony up some money have it shot.

I have the clearbra on my car. You cannot see it until you get right up on it or I tell you it's there.

Pro's - No rock chips on the covered area. I do have a few chips in uncovered areas tho [:@]If you would ever consider a vinyl bra or just want that protection I would definately recommend this. All of the benefits without the possibility of damage from a vinyl bra rubbing against your paint.

Con's - Expensive. In NoVa it cost me $775 to get it installed professionally. I also bumped the front of my Garage with my car and now I can see a smudge where the clearbra has detached from the bumper. I'm sure the paint and body are OK butI don't want to pay the $$ to fix it.

There was something else I didn't consider until long after I had installed the clearbra. If I wanted to lay some stripes on my car I would have to pull up at least some of the clearbra to paint the hood or make adjustments to the design in order to avoid re applying later.

Ive got it and it was custom cut for my bumper and fenders and hood, i also got some applied behind ea wheel and the only cons is that is really is costly but in the long run it saves you from repainting! ive seen some good scratches on the clear bra that would have made me cry if i didnt have it. Also do not wax the clear bra and when waxing the car leave a 1in space between the wax and clear bra just to be safe. To polish the clear bra use a product called plexus its designed for vinyl graphics and plastics like the clear bra
Wow!!! I couldn't even tell that your car had it on when I saw it at the Gallop...That's some good stuff, then!!
Yea and my car was dirty that day and usually you can see it easy on a black car but its great to have
