Default Those with MGW Shifter

My MGW arrived the other day and I will be installing it soon.I believe the handlethreads are 12 x 1.25 . I am looking to go with a white "Hurst Style" shift ball. The only one that I can find that is metric is 12 x 1.75 . I would assume this wont work???

Those of you with the MGW shifter and a white shift ball can you tell me where you got it from.

Thanks!

You have to call MGW and order the 3/8 X 16 handle to use a hurst ball. As far as I know Hurst does not make a 12mm X 1.25 ball handle. I think they should, cause a lot of guys like it. You could still install the shifter with your stock **** and change the handle later, it's very easy to change.

OK I can help with this one. Husrt does make a shift ball that is 12mm, I have one I will seel if someone wants it. You really need the 3/8-16. I got mine on ebay. I had to order a 3/8-16 handle from MGW since i screwed up and ordered the 12mm. The problem with the 12mm is there is nothing to connect the boot too. The MGW 3/8-16 handle has a place to connect the boot too. Let me know and I will send some pictures so you can see why the 12mm does not work.

I have the Hurst but I think the MGW is a far superior shifter.

My Mgw after 100 miles started to fall apart, I sent the POS back, got my money back and re-installed my Tri-Ax that I was soo stupid to take out. All the rubber isoulaters split and the bolts that hold the main arm to the tranny kept backing off[:@]I went with the hype of how quite it is, and it's the bestshifter, blah, blah, blah, and with the dynomat installed, my Tri-Ax is actually quiter than the mgw ever wasand I can slam the gears ten times harder and faster. Sorry....My exsperienced sucked with MGW.

OK....I shall get the 3/8 x 16 from MGW and a ball to fit.

I see Jugs has a 12mm x 1.75 that they say fits "Late Model Mustang". Must not be this late of a model

Did you use lock-tite like the instructions said? This is the one thing they could have added to the kit. I mean if they are going to go to the trouble and cost of including the allen wrench....I'd rather have seen a small bottle of lock-tite over the wrench. I am very happy with my MGW shifter. Had a hurst on my earlier mustang and it was good also.
