HaaahaAAA!!!! Good find! I just tried that with my stock gas cap that I kept. I'll remember that the bottom comes off when I have to replace or put back the original cap.

Wow! I asked that questiong 2 years ago and never got an answer, so things are improving here!
Of course the Stant cap I got had the lock mechanism slide out when I took it out of the box, so I had to get rid of that puppy.
With gas hitting $4 soon, I may need to buy one and try again!
Where did everyone purchase their caps? Include any links you have, please!

if anyone is worried about gas being siphoned out of the gas filler it can't be done or can it?

I didn't worry about that gas cap leash. I thought it was annoying anyway, dangling against my paint. When I fill up, I just put the cap on top of the pump. I haven't driven away without it....yet....
