Default Can I paint my mirrors?

I know many have taken their mirrors to get painted... Do you think its possible for lowly me to get it done? I could order the aerosol cans from paintscratch.com... And buy sand paper, primer etc..

Anyways my point is: I only got one pair of mirrors! So this would have to work. Can I do it?

(Taking car in to get painted is out of the question with my schedule, and I really don't want to drive without mirrors)

Do you plan on keeping your car forever?
If not, then either get covers, which come in several different styles, or but additional mirrors to sand down and paint.
If you will keep your stang forever then yes, just sand down the rough part until smooth and paint.
Does paintscratch have colors that match some of the hard-to-match paints?

Yeah you can do it but it's gonna be one of those weekend projects.Giving the primer/adhesion pro. time to dry, base coat dry...wet sand, clearcoat dry....I'm just saying if you don't try to rush it to get it done in one day you can do it.I think it would look good and I also want to do the same.

You can also buy the spray cans at http://www.expresspaint.com/. I have a can of Grabber Orange that is a perfect match. As far as painting the whole mirror, I think the half covers from here http://www.midwestautogear.com/index...&Itemid=94look better. They slim the big truck looking mirrors down.

If you are trying to save money then do the prep yourself but I would have them professionally shot vs. using rattle can paint. I don't think you'll be happy with the final result.

Here's a 'painted mirror' thread:

Have mine painted and worth the extra money to have it done by a pro. The covers are a good option and match well! Whatever you do get them done as it just doesn't seem right to have cheap looking plastic mirrors on these beautiful stangs....like the factory forget to do something in the paint booth for all stangs!.

Another option -

Interested to see of anyone has these, and how well (or not) they fit.
