Dynamat in 05+
So i bought this Dynamat trunk kit after having my system for about a year. I don't want to pay to have this installed sense I did the system for the most part by myself. Has anyone done dynamat in an 05+ ? Any tips? Advice? Do it in the shade? Do it in the sun? Supplies needed? one or two people? Thanks!!
...oh and, pictures would be awesome!

when i put my system in, a guy that was helping me out told me offbrands like fatmat do the same thing but looking at the little bit of fatmat thats in the my trunk, its nowhere near as thick as the dynamat is....
if you like bass, i would turn the bass up as loud as it goes and listen for where the rattling is the most prominent. do those spots first and work out from the serious rattle zones, i dont think you need to do the entired trunk, id work out from the highest rattling zones. do it in the shade.. poke air holes out of the dynamat right after you lay it down if it bubbles in any spot, you can use wall paper flattener if you want it to be perfect but it wont affect the sound. if you are going to dynamat the trunk id do the doors too, considering how much they rattle too with those not so perfectly fitting door panels.
I dynomatted my entire jeep trunk and the best suggestions I have are:
Clean the surface with a little alcohol first
Hold up the sheet and mark the size and flatten it against any curves, etc
Peel the top edge, stick it down and then pat it down as you peel off the backing.
A little heat on the dynamat doesn't hurt (leave it in the sun a bit should be fine)
Use a roller or something round to really work it onto the metal surface

I used FatMat Extreme in the trunk, rear fender wells, and under the rear seat.
Not that big of a deal to do. Like Aziraphale said, clean the surface with denatured alcohol first. Don't break the roller ( if you got one with your kit ), and take your time. It should come out fine.
Oh, and have plenty of beer handy. You will get pretty sore leaning over the back of the car after a while.

The rattling always seems to be from the edges of the trunk itself, which don't have any sort of panel that is removable or carpet covering them to dynamat this surface. It has holes that if you could dynamat all the way into would be perfect, so realistically speaking you can't dynamat the worst areas.
Despite this letus know if it's worth it to remove all the carpet and the rear tail light assembly and dynamat under all of that.
Dynamat is higher quality than fatmat, it requires thiner sheets to acheive the same result and therefore looks cleaner, doubble props if it's thicker, because then it's going to be very effective.

If you want to cut down on road noise I feel dynamat is the way to go. Application is easy and doesn't need to be perfect. I would dynamat the hole trunk, the doors and the floor of the car if you want less cabin noise that is transmitted thru the car. JMO but that is what I would do!
