4:10's OR 4:30's WHICH GEARS??
Pretty simple question, looking for some opinions.
I believe i am running 3:73's now looking for a boost in acceleration.
What would your choice be and why?
MPG isnt to big of a concern...
was thinking 4:30's To much?
Let me know thanks!

RE: 4:10's OR 4:30's WHICH GEARS??
If you have a 2006 Saleen S281 you have 3.73. 4.10s wont make any difference compared to the 3.73 and a waste IMO. Now if you are planning to ever go F/I then 4.30 may to be a waste, just depends on what kind of Hp your looking for. Anyway if you have a 2006 Saleen then I would just stick with a 3.73 you got and spend money else where.

06SALEEN is spot on here. If you're going to stay N/A then 4.30's are good. I have them in my car and love them. The freeway is kind of tough on the car now and I'm at 3200 rpm at 80mph in 5th. I go through the traps right at the top of 4th gear and at 114mph in the car. So everything else is spot on where I want it. If you plan on going forced induction later though you'll want the 3.73's back. The gear swap did wonders on the car for acceleration but traction has become a huge issue now. It's hard to get it to hook with the 4.30's.

4.10s hit the best of all worlds hwy and city. I do %90 hwy and %10 city with mine. Not too bad on the hwy or gas mileage. 4.30s would be cool for straight city drivingbut I'd be scared that I'd have to shift to 5th at the end of the quarter and good bye cross country cruises[sm=tongue.gif]

In 4.10 you can go about 130 in 4th so unless you trap higher than that then 4.10s are fine for the track. Not sure what 4.30's hit in 4th but I would think that you would be around 120-125. So you would be fine. 4.30 though with F/I isn't about running out of gear in the 1/4, its about traction and thats why it would not work

Get the 4:30's. You wont regret it, if MPG isnt a concern then you definitely will not regret it. I ran 4:10's and then bumped up to 4:30's like a year later and man i tell you this right now, its hands down THE single best mod i ever did to my car for under $600. You will def. feel it in the
butt-dyno. Dont think about this one, JUST DO IT.
