Default question for you

Hello,

Yesterday i was driving my stang, i was stopped then i have to make a quick move so i change to first then start running, i was running so fast in first but didnt change to second then i felt like the speed decreased and then changed to second quickly, it took me time cause i my right hand is illed.

The question is why if you run on first for more time than expeted the car decrease the speed, something wierd.

Thanks

If I am understanding what your getting at, Your saying you were in first gear, and you took off. You did not shift and you felt the car slow just before you (or the car if your an automatic trans) shifted into 2nd?

If thats the case, then what you experienced is the rev limiter.Nothing to worry about It's in place so when you do over-rev your engine, it keeps you from hurting it.

Sorry for not explaining correct.

Its manual. So i was on 1st gear i didnt shift and then i felt the car slow the speed before i change to 2nd gear.

Is that normal if it is norml then when is the max in which i need to change to 2nd gear ?

Thanks!

How long have you been driving? Is this your first time with a manual transmission? WTF?

You should shift before the little needle on the tach gets into the orange area....

I doubt you hit the rev limiter, you may have just felt a little bit of engine braking.
