Not to change the subject of this post, but when you guys are just doing a simple oil change or quick under the car repair, are ramps good enough protection? Believe it or not, Sunday was my first EVER oil change of my life....at to be honest, it was a little scary under the car....

Thanks.

+100000000000 to the jackstands. I do all my work on a lift at my job but always use jackstands, can't even stress that enough. As for as the rocker panels you can grab a set here http://newtakeoff.com/index.asp?Page...mp;ProdID=8127for about $100. A floor jack and stands kit is cheaper for future jobs.

guys thanks for all your concern. i wish i woulda known about the scissor jack's quality. there's no warning on that, maybe there will be in the future if i make a big enough stink about it. im sure im not the only person this ever happened to. thanks for all the info on new panels as well. my favorite thing about this forum is that it's full of good people.

My rocker panel got a nice crack in it due to a piece of rebar on the highway. I called new parts takeoff and they sell both sides painted for $99.00 the paint was a perfect match and now looks like nothing happened.
