NOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooo
u guys im gonna cry. i had my car up on the stupid scissor jack for about 45 minutes, i was checking out my brake duct job and i was making changes to the driver side because i didnt install it as well as the passenger side (it was raining and dark when i got to that side). so after making my fixes i go to grab the wheel to put back on the car and BOOOOOM the jack popped off the frame and the car dropped. luckily somehow the rocker panel supported the jack until i was able to get a second jack to get the car back up, but FUuuuUUCUk, my rocker panel is done for. im gonna go cry now.
on the plus side, the job i did with the duct on the passenger side is damn solid, it is holding up perfectly. like i said, the driver side wasnt routed and anchored the same, and it started to mangle up, but i think i fixed it. if i can duplicate the passenger side to driver side they will last a long time.
anyway, i took my car toa fordcollision center and told them i think it's due to metal fatigue, or the fact that the jack blows. they told me to contact their warranty guy and be nice to him and he'll make a claim and go at bat for me. i figure this, the jack was good for 45 minutes, ive done it a million times before and i followed directions to a T and had it positioned right. it was not my fault, if u look at the metal support under the car it looks damaged. i hope to god, tho dont expect, that they will fix this for me. this makes me sick.

Bro seriously 45 minutes on a scissor jack!!!! WTF were you thinking!!! The jack area is not meant to support the weight of the car for 45 minutes of jostling and work. Bro, you're lucky you didn't kill yourself. Seriously, I lost a friend of mine that way. The dumb *** was working under a car with just a jack when it gave out and crushed him. Poor guy was alone under his car for a few hours til him Mom showed up and found him. You don't want to go that way. Get yourself a set of jack stands and play it safe next time.
As far as the rocker goes don't try and have Ford pay the bill for your mess up. Just be thankful you weren't under the car when the accident happened.
Oh and so you know I process warranties for FORD so you're going to have a hard time to get this one to pay. Ford is being very tight right now with warranty claims.

remove tire and cut it
put on spare
remove ducts
cross your fingers and hope they don't catch on to what you were really using the jack for. it's meant for an emergency tire change.
I hate to **** on an open wound, but this is a classic example of why you need a good jack and jackstands. It easily could have happened while you were under the car. Chalk it up as a learning experience about safety. You could have been home alone and screwed because you were pinned under it. Hopefully it will work out okay. Worst case scenario you can get takeoff rockers for under $100 and the paint shouldn't be too much.

Dude the jack is for changing tires not doing 45 min worth of work. Get some jack stands (there cheap) hate to see one of our fellow Stang guys lose a leg or arm or even worse your life.
be careful!!
be careful!!
Yikes. You could be dead. It happens so easily too. I HATE being under the car with jacks. In fact I never do it anymore, only ramps and stands now.
Just take the hit and handle it yourself. Rocker panels are cheap. If its a GT then get it painted for cheap. $250 total project, maybe. either way, don't fret.
Get a black rocker panel for now if you can't afford to paint it yet.

Your car fell, and you are worried about a waranty claim? Wow I'm glad you weren't killed, or maimed by a flying sizor jack,............
You schould be able to get some new takeoff side skirts for next to nothing, already painted your color.
Good Luck, and God Bless.
