TPMS question....

TPMS question....
The TPMS failure light came up on my dash ever since I changed my wheels. I'm almost positive my new wheels have new sensors, but for them to be recalibrated at the dealer - do I need to flash back to my stock tune? I'm not worried about them finding out about mods, I just don't want my SCT thingy to get all screwed up if they have to mess with my ECM. Please let me know. Thanks.

RE: TPMS question....
Yes the TPMS sensors need to be recalibrated.
Thats what the shop manual states for the 07 TPMS
system. Each sensor has a unique ID and the SJB needs
to be put into learn mode and thenthe sensors are activated.
They are in sleep mode when they are new and when
installed and IDed to a cars Smart Junction Box
they are woke up by a handheld programmer. If yours
are new and have not been woke up by a programmer
then they have 0 chance of working. The stealership
will be able to handle every detail and get that pesky
low air warning to go away and function properly.
I would hope that they are actually in the tires as the
stealership will charge you all that time just to find out
they are the wrong kind, (they need to be a certain
color) or worse yet, they are not there.
