Question about tuners.....
I am new to tuning and just purchaed a Diablo tuner...I have an 06 gtautomatic... I was just wondering if there is anything that I can do that would hurt my engine? I amalso worried about the automatic trans tuning... Any advice that you guys can give on this would be great.. Thanks
Was with some people down in carlise this weekend who had the worst experience (Not the first time either) with Diablo, tried calling to get help and no response (which isn't unusual for them) So they had a stranded car. Needless to say they were a ditributor of Diablo , but not any longer. SCT tuners are the way to go for sure.
The diablo and SCT are both good tuners....you really shouldnt mess with the settings anyway...that is what people like Doug @ b ama and Brenspeed are for. Let them write a tune for you.
There was a problem - * here are the details as brief as I can be -
Sunday morning my engine cut off at a red light on the west side high way - wouldn't start again as if I ran out of gas - that kind of sound and effect - engine light came on - I'm thinking the worst - was towed back to brooklyn
- running SCT 93 oct torque tune from bama for about 3 weeks since my new mods * bbk long tubes - hi flow cats / xpipe -
- same day I hit the mustang forums hard finally one guy says go back to stock tune and try to start it up again before going to ford in morning -
- it works! It started fine - - just the check engine light is on again -I take it to the performance shop where I had long tubes installed - the check it on their computer - running lean codes - they say that really shouldnt have caused the car to just shut down like that - they mentioned if I go back to the torque tune it should re adjust but I don’t want it to conk out on me again
They would have liked to see the memory before I went back to stock set up - but couldn’t because I reflashed back
- in any event I thought I would share this with you - maybe there is something you know or could help with * like has this happened before* or just take it as information and be aware

I've heard of people having throttle lag in automatics with the Predator's tunes provided by Diablosport. However with manual transmissions, they (Diablosport) have been writing great tunes. Since you have an automatic, it may be worth your while to purchase Brenspeed, B.ama.chips, or get a custom dyno tune somewhere. If you want to try the Diablosport tune first, I suggest making sure you have the most current software revision...it's either r36 or r37... go to www.diablosport.comto find the latest info.
Thanks for the input guy's. I have decided to take the tuner to a local speed shop and have them set up a custom tune for it. Thereason that I bought the Diablo over the SCT to beginwith is a buddy of mine sold his 05 and sold me the tuner for 100.00 and I couldn't pass it up[8D].AlsoI talked tothe shop today and theysaid that they can adjust the firmness with that tuner itsjust that itdoesn't come with that option stock.Thank you all again... Now off to take a drive[sm=happy046.gif]
