How long do you keep your car?

Usually keep mine until they reach about 120-140K miles as long as the realiability is there. Typically takes about 6 or 7 years for me.
I'm just hoping that the Mustang will hold up that long with the occasional hot rodding, and especially if I can follow through with the plan to add the S/C.

RE: How long do you keep your car?
I have a poor history regarding keeping cars. I've had 3 vettes and a viper since 2002. I've had the mustang 10 months now. It's not the same mustang anymore and lost a lot of its streetability but my intention when I bought it was to turn it into a track car. It's still great fun, quite comfortable (although rear seats are gone and front don't go back as farthey used to), and the a/c is fantastic (very important here in the deep south). I like the car so much that the plan is to keep modding it until it has to be trailered to the track. So I plan on keeping it for at least 3-5 years.

The longer you keep a reliable car the more value you receive from it. Most cars today are still running very well after 150k plus miles. It takes me about 17 years to drive 150k in a daily driver and a lesser driven car like the Mustang it will take 20 years to drive 50k.

I don't buy cars with the intention of getting rid of them in a couple of years. My '05 will be with me forever. Hopefully, someday I'll be lucky enough to have kids and I can pass it along to them. It would be cool having a daughter driving a classic S197 to high school.

I'm not saying your lying, but the mods in your sig just dont add up to $9,000. What other mods do you have that arent in your sig?.

I have had mine for 2 years and 4 months with no desire of selling it with about $9,000 in mods installed. I currently own 3 Mustangs and have no problem with buying a fourth only problem is a fourth might push me over my garage space. I guess I will have to push the 02 out of the stable.
