Default How long do you keep your car?

Hi All!

My new Mustang should arrive in the next couple of weeks and I've been reading about a lot of the different mods people do when they get them, but it got me wondering. On average, how long do you plan to keep your S197s? I just can't see putting too much $$$ into the car if I'm only going to have it for, say 3-4 years (before possibly getting a newer 'stang - assuming the rumored '09 redesign turns out OK).

Thanks!

That's tough to say, I had my '05 GT for about17 months(3/05 to 8/06) and jumped at the chance to use Ford's 0% financing to get my '06 GT(yes, it added another year of payments, but overall I didn't lose out over the life of the loan compared to the 4.9% loan I had on the '05). Although I think I'll keep this car a while(maybe hand it down to nephew in 4-6 years, depends on his academic achievements) and yes, I'll keep modding, that and Mustangs go hand in hand. Will definitely buy another V-8 Mustang again, just depends on what's available and what's not outrageously over-priced, would dig a future Mach 1 if it's ever produced again..............

I usually get a new vehicle within 3 years. That being said though, that was my past. Unless something drastic happens, ie. Can't pay the payment or serious accident wit it, I plan on having this quite a few years longer, and most likely even longer, liek until I am dead. I love the body style of my 06. I plan on putting in mods. And if I want a change, say in 3 to 4 years, after warranty is up, engine or upgrade it. Maybe by then the cost will be down since it will have been out for awhile.

I have had mine for 2 years and 4 months with no desire of selling it with about $9,000 in mods installed. I currently own 3 Mustangs and have no problem with buying a fourth only problem is a fourth might push me over my garage space. I guess I will have to push the 02 out of the stable.

After 3 years I'm usually ready for a new car. I had my '00 Trans Am for 4 years and I was ready for a new car, which was an '06 Civic. I could only deal with that for 13 months, then bought the Mustang. I plan to replace it when the make another change.

I kept my fist Mustang (1982 GT) until 3 years ago. I'll probably hang on to this one too for a while.

I've never owned a Car, (Got a GT500 coming) June 30, 2007 my 01F250 7.3 CC LB 4X4 will be 6 years old 265K!! Ever time I fire it up, I get a huge smile on my Face. It's not going anywhere any time soon. Unless I get a huge amount of money for it!!

Usually keep mine until they reach about 120-140K miles as long as the realiability is there. Typically takes about 6 or 7 years for me.
I'm just hoping that the Mustang will hold up that long with the occasional hot rodding, and especially if I can follow through with the plan to add the S/C.
