SCT install help, 100 octane Gas?
Sorry I am new with car Mods, but I have no idea how to use my knew SCT SF tuner. I read the manual that came with it.. I still don't know how to use it. My next quetion is about 100 octane gas (available at my local Sunco station) is it worth it? if I am using the SCT? Sorry again for this lame post.
Did you buy a new or used SCT? Do you have any other mods done to your car? These tuners are pretty much plug n' play... you plug it in underneath the dash, first it should ask if you want to store the stock information (definite yes) and then it should ask if you want to install a tune, and there should be a couple different tunes pre-programmed in. If you are planning on doing some other mods, you SHOULD have a custom tune done. A dyno tune will always be better than getting a custom tune e-mailed to you. Most of the people here are happy with their Brenspeed or B a m a chips tunes. There are other tuners such as evolution and vmp tuning. If you live in jersey, team jdm in freehold is supposed to be fantastic... With that being said, you should not expect to see the same gains from a canned tune versus a custom tune. Well worth the money.
THere isnt going to be anything for 100 oct gas since its not even close to standard.....you best bet is to get a tune from B ama or Brenspeed for 93 or 94 oct...the Sunoco should have that too..
