My '05 Torch Red Premium has been trouble free since I have had it. I bought it in October of '06 with 11,000 miles on it and paid $21,500. It'sa 5 speed withall options includingthe Shaker 1000 and side airbags.
wow that is seriously cheap, in oct. 2006 book value for that was probably like 25-26k...How did you end up getting such a good deal? Im really confused and don't know what to do? His car is always garaged and has probably never seen rain so i wouldn't be able to tell about the leak....is there a certain build date where the problem falls under? and how much would an extended warranty from the dealership cost me?

i bought a 2005 gt used june 2006 with 8 k on it for 29k cad taxes in

problemswith it so far (fixed under warranty)

- rear brake pads
- headlight relfector cap melting
- fuel pump
- new transmission due to a knocking noise in 4th - still unresolved to date

do i regret it? not at all

just make sure you give it a very good once over, take it to a mechanic if in doubt and you will be fine

Blue book values are very misleading. In March of '06 I bought a brand new 2006 GT Premiumwith 18" wheels, shaker 500, and every other option for $25,750.

Actually it's in the console. I was in this situation last fall, I decided to go for the 07 over an 05 I found on the lot after a lot of thinking. Personally, I don't like buying the first model year of any new model. Granted, the Mustang was soooo engineered before it was released, there were few problems, I'm still leary about gremlins in the system. That, and when you buy a used GT from a dealers lot, you never know how hard it's been driven. This way, I know that if it breaks, it's my fault. I figure the majority of GT's out there are driven somewhat hard, just read on here....we all do it to an extent. But, for the most part, they can take it, they were built for a little abuse.

I got my 2006 gt loaded from a dealer for $23k a few weeks back. it did have more miles than yours 11k i think. So your price sounds about right for a year older.

im going to buy a 2005 mustang gt premium torch red with 5k miles......its a 5speed-leather-17inch rims-flowmaster axlebacks......the guy originally wanted 25k but then he went down to 23,500 when i told him it was too much.....Book value appears to be about 22k for my area with those low miles....its in perfect condition.....2005 and 2006 are soo close to each other in price, do you think i should go for a 2006 or just save 2-3k and get a 2005? They are identical cars correct? Did the 2005 have any problems or recalls that i should check for?.....im offering him 22k, i think thats a fair price since its book value? Do you think i should get him down to 21,500 or is the 22k a good deal?
gotta say man, u see the way my stang looks, without the bra but with the rims, i pain $22,000 for it with about 1 mile on it, it was show room car, in mint condition man, i dunno its up to you, i say, go looking around in july or august for showroom models, they give good discounts on them :-) and its the v6 with everything except my color
