Default CDC Aggresive Chin Spoiler: The cutting!

Ive been reading over the instructions from CDC's website about the cutting involved in its installation. Is it absolutely critical to cut on my existing bumber/fascia for fit? Or is the cutting for airflow. I was looking for some tips/tricks/comments from people who have them on their cars. Any help?

Thanks!
Corey

Just installed mine this weekend. You HAVE to cut. Don't be shy about it. The "loop" on the top covers everything. Make sure to leave the tab slots though. They're critical to lining thing up afterwards.

Yeah cutting required but no big deal. You might want to consider a seamless install; if so let me know. (I have posted info and pics on doing this) pics below show mine (seamless) and std CDC install. btw, lower section of opening (panel) is prone to warping. If you have it baked it will almost asurredly warp on you soon afterwards. I have remedy but it should be done with initial install.

If you see the lower grill, it's the CDC Classic; which is what I would recommend over the Agressive unless you are into fabrication or have friends in a shop who have such skill and interest. (I do not like the way the Agressive 'bolt on' looks; it's a shabby look IMO, but the Classic is "right on" with its design)

I honestly have seen an aggressive chin with a lower grille still. I'll see if I can find a picture.

Couldn't you just add some screws and washers to the bottom lip like it's done on the top?

The lower shelf of the "mouth opening" has nothing to mount to; it's floating in air; what is needed is a formed piece of 2" styro that you carve and plug this cavity from behind. This area should have been corrugated as opposed to wide-open/unsupported. The fix is not bad if you can carve a piece of 2" thick pink styro approx 30" long. Actual final installation of this plug is done after as the very last step in the install. More info if you needed. Pics ofmy warped CDC Agg CS if you need to see to believe.

Could be; I'm betting it's a "one-off" though.
