The Saleenator's back

The Saleenator's back
So I picked her up yesterday afternoon from sutton.
She seems to be running great. Hopefully it won't last just for another day or 2 again.
I talked to Doug on the phone yesterday and he told me that they replaced the tensioner and ended up using a k061073 belt.
However when I picked the car up I noticed that the tensioner was the old one cause it looks pretty banged up and has a few scratches on it from the first time the belt came off and I had to improvise a breaker bar to loosen it up.
So yeah, overall, they were trying to be helpful and they really tried to fix the problem and stand behind their work. But...
if it was to do it all over again I wouldn't have taken it there.
Clearly the haven't put on a Saleen blower before.
I guess they're really good with whipples and KBs and maybe roush, but definitely never installed a saleen before.
Also I noticed that they build a lot of engines and heard only great things about them from everybody else.
I'm just saying MY experience with them was bad.
I hope that the setup will be good and that I won't have to tow it back there in a couple of days.
I'm probably gonna end up going somewhere else anyway just to have a second opinion on everything that has been done to the car.
Possibly another custom dyno tune as well.
As I said... overal experience with Sutton.... bad.
I love the car though and the setup I chose. She pulls really hard. She's a beast [sm=gears.gif]

RE: The Saleenator's back
hey glad to hear you got the car back on the road cnapsys....
i'd carry a spare belt and a 1/2" breaker bar in the trunk
for awhile. i hope all the bugs are worked out and you can put this
all behind you.

RE: The Saleenator's back
probinator - the car was at suttonhp in matteson, il.
hammeron - thanks for the heads up. I was thinkingthe same thing.
stopped by a Murray's Shop last night but they don't carry that belt.
I might have to get it online somewhere.
I sure hope they got it right this time at least to hold enough so I can take it to Alternative auto or Livernois.
